I was born in Canada and my parents immigrated from Kerala, India in the 1960s. Growing up, I enjoyed delicious home-cooked Indian food every day. I spent most of my summers in India surrounded by family, delicious food and great homemade drinks!
As a child, I particularly loved the nostalgic Nimbu Pani beverage, and eventually, I learned to make it for my family at home. In 2017, my husband Alan (@44alanhenderson), encouraged me to can this beverage. At that time, we had four young children who kept us very busy. I was fortunate to be a full-time Mom during their formative years. I knew our babies needed all of my attention, and I loved being their everything!
In 2021, my youngest child was 10, and with the same encouragement from my husband, I was ready to share @gobollygood with the world! After working as an electrical engineer, I decided to pivot towards entrepreneurship to create something close to my heart. I had my kids in mind when I founded Bollygood. I wanted to make a better-for-you, tasty beverage without artificial ingredients.
We are proud to be the first Indian-inspired sparkling lemonade and limeade in North America, based on a Nimbu Pani - a drink enjoyed for centuries in India. We added a sparkling twist to this classic beverage. It’s a new and exciting way to experience this timeless drink. Bollygood is Non-GMO Project Verified, has only 50 calories and 7g of added sugar per serving, and tastes great. I am thrilled to bring East Indian representation to the shelves as the Founder and CEO of Bollygood and hope that you will join us on our journey, too!
