Background:

BetterCloud is the market leader for SaaS Operations. They are headquartered in New York City with offices in San Francisco, CA, and Atlanta, GA. With SaaS adoption growing 38% YoY, an average IT team is now responsible for managing and securing 110+ SaaS applications.

BetterCloud has multiple employee resource groups, but they tend to operate in silos with very little interaction amongst them.

The Ask:

Host a collaborative event during Black History Month that starts a conversation around racial solidarity between Black and Brown employee resource groups.

Workshop Goals:

  • Create space for Black, South Asian and AAPI communities to explore their identity and heal from historical and current trauma.

  • Build a community of people ready to engage in inter-racial solidarity work and integrate learned knowledge into their existing work.

  • Provide people with the tools to talk about anti-Blackness, Indophobia and Stop Asian Hate in the larger conversation about racial equity.

Results:

The BlindianProject created a safe space and led us through a guided workshop where people shared their personal experiences they wouldn't have felt comfortable sharing before. The workshop brought the Chocolate Rain and Curry Cloud ERG's closer together and opened the door for future dialogue.
